New riders My MCN Subscribe so charge life is short – but can be quickly swapped. 2019 KTM 690 Enduro R. Spec: 693cc / 72bhp / 146kg / 910mm seat height; Price: £8500 (used) – £9599

Some may say this is a dangerous way to mount the bike but it works for me and other short riders. I can't speak for others but many a dirt bike rider who's bike doesn't have a kick stand mount their rides this way also.

Maybe available aftermarket. CS sprocket is different from smaller singles and 950/990s. The older LC4 (625,640, etc.) front sprockets are exactly the same as the 690. For example, 58033029014 is a KTM OEM 14 tooth front sprocket that will fit the 690 (from the 2005 640 Enduro parts fiche.) #23. 2024 KTM 690 SMC R Power Output: 74 Horsepower. KTM’s manic character may be too much for an enduro but one platform that suits it the most is the Supermoto, and that’s where the KTM single I do like the KTMs as well, six years ago the SMC and 690 Enduro were on my short list when I found a really good deal on a Husqvarna 610SM. I don't quite understand you as the SMC and 690 Enduro are basically the same bike with the difference being the SMC having seventeen inch supermoto wheels and the enduro having the larger dirt oriented wheels.
Now, re-install the storage bin, and seat supports. Next, secure the storage bin using the supplied M5 screws to the support through the holes you just drilled. The seat supports use the factory upper two stepped bolts, and the lower holes are secured using large flange M6 nuts, or normal M6 nuts with backup washers.

The 690 is certainly better offroad than any drz. I've done OBCDR for 8 days on it carrying everything, with 3 other riders, 2 of which also bought 690's (and also amateur racers), the other was a retired pro that picked an rxv. We all found it the perfect long distance light adventure bike. It does ride tall which is a turn off for shorter riders.

Dirt Rider magazine says the 690 is a winner in a 1 bike class. So no comparison the KTM will own the XT but the KTM cost 30%+ More $$$$. DR did an article on the 650 Japanese D.S. bikes than one on the 690 because it just couldn't compare to the others.
Consider a Suzuki DR650. After a year or so or riding it on both street and dirt, you'll know when you are ready for a 690 Enduro R. Yes, it will cruise at 75 all day long, and be comfortable enough. The best part is that you'll sell it for the same price you bought it for, if you keep on on maintenance and such.
Here is a video of the codes and the bike back at my garage. The codes showing are. F light. 1st set 6 short: Input signal from throttle valvesensor too low/high. 2nd set 8 short: Input signal from throttle gripsensor too low/high. 3rd set, 9 short: Input signal from pressure sensor of induction manifold too low/high. WATCH: Xavier de Soultrait in action at the Trefle Lozerien on his personal KTM 690 Enduro R. Ahead of the Trefle Lozerien, Xavier swapped the bike’s stock fork with WP’s high-end Cone Valve fork, an upgrade that would improve overall handling and supply next level firmness with just the right amount of cushion to allow for harder, faster hits in rocky sections.
The first of the two KTM bikes on this list is the 690 Enduro R, often hailed as an off-road scalpel. It is a lightweight and nimble bike designed to conquer technical terrain with precision.
But you now need to add spacers to the brake caliper. The stock 21" wheel spacers are 5mm shorter than the SMC front wheel spacers, this means two 5mm spacers for the brake caliper. And make sure to get caliper bolts that are 5mm longer M8x40mm (KTM part: 0025080406). A new custom size brake line will be needed.

Another top-shelf motorcycle built around KTM’s tried-and-true LC4 engine platform — meaning it shares the same powertrain and power output as the 690 Enduro R seen above — Husky’s 701 SuMo is an utterly exhilarating bike with razor-sharp handling, a svelte sub-350lb curb weight, and a set of black-anodized 17” street wheels shod in AYiUvtI.
