In case this is of any help, to anyone, here is an update: Low compression recorded on number 1 cyl. The only fault code recorded is P0301. I stripped out the multiair unit, & found the classic fault- number 1 cylinder valve, piston, cylinder thing, had completely unscrewed, obviously resulting in a loss of hydraulic pressure.
